Trepia: Geographic Proximity and Socializing
Posted by Stowe Boyd
I see that Trepia has announced a new chat tool (as if we needed that) with the use of proximity information garnered from the network.
Whether it's on campus, at work, or at a conference, discover a world of people just around the corner!
The tool apparently builds the buddy list automatically, based on geographic proximity.
Reminds me of the automatic generation of online communities by Blueair Networks based on "relevance" -- and proximity is one aspect of relevance.
Thanks to Clay Shirky at Many-to-Many for the pointer.
