AOL and IMlogic partner: First Certified AOL Instant Messager Partner
Posted by Stowe Boyd
Looks like AOL is hedging its bets with its own AIM Enterprise Gateway (licensed from FaceTime) and has announced with great fanfare that it has structured a partnership with IMlogic, annointing IMlogic as the first certified AOL Instant Messenger Partner. According to InfoWorld,
"By using IM Manager, network administrators can manage multiple IM platforms including AOL's AIM and ICQ, Microsoft's MSN Messenger and Exchange 2000 IM, Yahoo's Yahoo Messenger, IBM's Lotus Sametime, and Reuters Messaging.
AOL also has its own network management tool called AIM Enterprise Gateway that is designed for dedicated AIM environments, but Stewart said this product wouldn't suit companies using multiple instant messaging products. As a result, AOL needed a solution that could integrate management of AIM with other IM products."
IMlogic is continuing its meteoric rise as the preeminent technology for instant messaging to "go corporate," providing enterprise scale security, management, and archiving. Most importantly, IMlogic is raidly becoming the de facto interoperabillity gateway technology for the enterprise.
