Initiating a new series today called The Get Real Minute, a daily, one minute podcast. Thanks to Steve Rubel, I stumbled on Writeboard, an ajax collaborative document web app from the folks at 37signals: here's my initial response, prior to fiddling with it at greater length.

This is just a low end version of a Wiki. Better use Jotspot instead...

I am a bit shocked that the authors do not even acknowledge on their site that their application is largely inspired, to say the least, from the Wiki technology...

Hi Stowe,

Just wanted to note - Writely does do revision tracking and comparison - look in the "revisions" tab in the editor.

Sam -

I know about the revision stuff in Writely. I wrote in a bug report about how it was difficult to use -- highlighting on Firefox on Mac OS X (at least) made it impossible to see the name of who made the revisions. And there is no comparison stuff. And one of the features I asked for -- being able to associate a comment with a version -- is supported in Writeboard.

On the other hand, I like the ability of have a dashboard of docs as implemented in Writely. I expect that the 37signals guys will figure out a way to link Writeboard docs to Basecamp, about which I plan to write later this morning.
